INDICATION

CTA of the cerebral arteries is indicated in a wide variety of clinical scenarios including:
  1. Ischaemic stroke to detect occlusion and thrombosis.
  2. Transient ischaemic attack to detect carotid artery stenosis.
  3. Tubarachnoid haemorrhage for detection of aneurysms.
  4. Cerebral parenchymal haemorrhage to assess for the presence of a vascular malformation or ongoing bleeding (spot sign).
